The trip begins with a 20 minute ride to the river. Guests will float down the river for approximately two hours during which they will have the opportunity to see much of Costa Rica's famous wildlife and have an interactive conversation with their guide. At the end of the trip you will arrive at a local farm where the owner is a well-known Costa Rican horse breeder and trainer. His wife makes delicious homemade snacks and serves Chorreado coffee. If you prefer juice instead of coffee there is something for everyone's desires. Afterwards, we drive about 30 minutes to the Rio Fortuna Waterfall, where we will descend and the client can cool off in the crystal clear water of the waterfall. Finally, after this tour, it is time for lunch, where you will be offered the traditional Casado, which contains rice, beans, salad, mashed potatoes, fried plantain and the client can choose between fish, chicken, pork, beef or vegetarian, plus the fruit juice of your choice.
We will stop for all group members at their respective hotels/meeting points at the designated time. This trip usually takes between 45 minutes to 1:30hrs.
This is the entrance to the river. Our guide upon arrival will begin to set up our river equipment and we will have time to use the restrooms and enjoy the scenery while our team finishes setting up the river equipment.
Descent down the Peñas Blancas River. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours, during which you will have the opportunity to see much of Costa Rica's wildlife and have an interactive conversation with your guide.
This is our disembarkation point where we will spend approximately 40 minutes. Upon arrival, our staff will stow the life jackets and paddles and accompany you to the local farm where we will enjoy a delicious snack. The facilities have restrooms and while you enjoy your snack our staff will finish getting the equipment ready to return.
Upon arrival we will have toilets available to change into bathing suits. To reach the natural pool, we must go down approximately 550 steps and depending on the conditions, we can swim and enjoy the crystal clear water and watch the water fall approximately 70 meters.
This is our designated restaurant. Our guide will make the reservation and ask each participant for their protein of choice. Lunch will be a Costa Rican meal called "Casado", which is rice, beans, salad of the day (green or cold), fried tortilla chips, picadillo of the day (chayote or sweet potato) and the protein of your choice among which are fish, chicken, pork, beef and a natural drink. In case you do not want protein we have vegetarian or vegan options and a children's menu.
