Overview

Immerse yourself in the rainforest canopy on this guided hike through Arenal Hanging Bridges Mystic Park. Hike 3 km of well-maintained trails-including 15 bridges-6 of them suspension bridges-through 250 hectares of protected primary forest. Enjoy breathtaking views from heights of more than 60 meters, including the spectacular Waterfall Bridge overlooking a pristine waterfall, while your naturalist guide points out the exotic flora and fauna.

Arenal Hanging Bridges

This tourist destination is located in a protected forest in an area of 250 hectares. This natural paradise consists of three kilometers of trails, crossing 15 bridges, 6 of them are suspension bridges. One of the suspension bridges is called "Puente Catarata" and is more than 60 meters high, it gives a breathtaking view of a beautiful waterfall. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the abundance of the forest and the great variety of wildlife. During the tour, our guides will provide interesting and educational information regarding local botanical and animal life, geography and history.

Pickup and transfer

We will stop for all group members at their respective hotels/meeting points at the designated time. This trip usually takes between 45 minutes to 1:30hrs.

Mistico Park

Mistico Park is our place for the hanging bridges activity. We start the hike through primary forest trails, on a very well maintained concrete trail of approximately 3km. We will find 15 bridges in total, 9 of them stationary bridges and 6 hanging bridges. This activity will last approximately 2 hours.

Great half day tour option from La Fortuna

This tour turned out to be part of a larger day tour so most people on the activity continued on to La Fortuna waterfall and Arenal Volcano. Not a big deal but we weren't expecting the group to be split.

Our guide Chino was amazing and showed us a ton of wildlife including toucans, pit vipers, and various other birds and frogs. Mystico is a beautiful park and even if you don't see much wildlife the setting is fabulous.

Great experience

We really enjoyed this tour. We met the operator in downtown La Fortuna and rode in a comfy van from there. Our group was 10 so not too big for us all to see and hear. Will our guide was fun, friendly and knowledgeable, spotting several small frogs, snakes, lizards and tarantulas for us. We also saw great views of spider monkeys and howler monkeys. Sadly, no sloths on this trip. But Mistico was beautiful, offering amazing views of the canopy, valley and our best view of Arenal of the trip. Highly recommend.

Views, easy jungle hike, swinging bridges and lots of animal encounters

Enjoyable and fascinating hike through the rainforest and swinging bridges with many encounters with spider monkeys, sloths, vipers, unique birds, non-stinging bees and tarantulas near La Fortuna. Beautiful Arenal views and pretty waterfall. Juan Carlos is a passionate and engaging guide and transport was comfortable in small group van.

Great Day at Mistico Hanging Bridges

This was a great tour. We loved the Mistico Hanging Bridges, the wildlife, our guide Val was great!! We saw lots of frogs, snakes, birds, a waterfall.....no sloths though, which was a bummer, but it's wildlife. We were the first one's picked up, so it was a long time on the bus before getting to the bridges.
